welcome

Tell me what's wrong with society
When everywhere I look I see
Young girls dying to be on TV
Won't stop 'til they've reached their dreams

Diet pills, surgery
Photoshopped pictures in magazines
Telling them how they should be
It doesn't make sense to me

Is everybody going crazy?
Is anybody gonna save me?
Can anybody tell me what's going on?
Tell me what's going on
If you open your eyes
You'll see that something is wrong

I guess things are not how they used to be
There's no more normal families
Parents act like enemies
Making kids feel like it's World War III

No one cares, no one's there
I guess we're all just too damn busy
And money's our first priority
It doesn't make sense to me

Is everybody going crazy?
Is anybody gonna save me?
Can anybody tell me what's going on?
Tell me what's going on
If you open your eyes
You'll see that something is wrong

Is everybody going crazy?
Is everybody going crazy?

Tell me what's wrong with society
When everywhere I look I see
Rich guys driving big SUV's
While kids are starving in the streets
No one cares
No one likes to share
I guess life's unfair

Is everybody going crazy?
Is anybody gonna save me?
Can anybody tell me what's going on?
Tell me what's going on
If you open your eyes
You'll see that something
something is wrong

Is everybody going crazy?
Can anybody tell me what's going on?
Tell me what's going on
If you open your eyes
You'll see that something is wrong

I would not hide, neither will i forget how bad/sad/emo this week was, as you can see from my facebook wall post about the 14 day thingy. Shadow of the day will paint the world in grey... The sun goes down, i feel the light betray me... I remember black skies, the lighting all around me...

It was really devastating for me, to think that i've done relatively not bad, filling 2 perms on top of the usual temps and the thought of happily extending my contract till july, but the 2 week's notice to buck up just smashed that thought of extension, totally. And there i was just a day ago and still telling everybody who thinks i'm crazy that i love my job...

Over the extended weekend on the trip to bintan, i really let go of everything. I left everything: all my worries, thoughts and burdens behind and man i felt lighter. Sitting down by the white sandy beach watching the sun rise with the accompaniment of the waves. Trying to catch crabs, looking for sea shells... Other than the stupid incident which we missed our ferry on the way there, our trip was a very enjoyable one. Traveling around the whole island in the day on a private tour which brings us to places with amazing scenery (while traveling along the coastline), to places which showed the day to day life of the locals (passing by their harbour, houses, shopping centres and even their 8-ball pool shops)

I was also to learn that there are 2 zones with in Bintan itself, 1 for the locals, the other housed the resorts for the visitors which is out of bounds to the locals. The difference between the 2 zones can be compared to heaven and earth. The local zone generally have roads with no street lamps, no government supplied water & electricity while the tourist zone have roads which are nicely paved, specially planted trees, hired locals who take care of security and cleanliness, golf courses... Which i must admit comes at a much higher premium.

The food at the resorts are way too expensive even by singapore's standards, the international buffet which was 50 plus per person after taxes wasn't worth its value. Rental and usage of the sea sports facilities and all terrain vehicles are no where near cheap with rates averaging around 50 bucks per hour. The hotel facilities are great, with very spacious rooms and even beach chairs at the balcony!

Came back to my homeland in the afternoon and was immediately greeted with a call. Of all questions, my good buddy joseph have to ask "You working tomorrow?" I swear at that point in time i feel like throwing my pair of newly bought slippers at him! Still i ended up meet weiji and him for dinner at a korean restaurant and ice-cream before heading over to play pool at our usual hangout.

Every day once the clock strike 5.30pm! The office POT LUCK begins! You'll see containers and bags of food appearing out of no where being passed around! And this week i shared the fish crackers i bought from malaysia to everybody's delight. It is also this week which i came to know of a new bakery which sells mouth watering rasin and cheese buns.

Helped aaron found a job at Ernst & Young, located at shenton way. Once again the 3 old buddies are reunited both at work and at home... Hahaha, and he's a super lucky guy, monday to wednesday work at state bank of india then thursday onwards at EY! And also i realised this week that of the 14 people i've match a job to, 9 of which are my friends! I'm such a friend FAJ-er...

Also this week we witness the departure of yet another temporary staff, Yvoone, who happens to be the lady who introduced this job to me. All the best.

Friday is a super shagged day for me as my mentor isn't around and i have to juggle between my already super busy work and her correspondences with her clients. Through that i've got to learn another important problem solving skill! (Especially when i'm contacting both the client and the candidate) Dinner after that was at marina square manhattan fish market with linton and aaron. They forgot and left out my reservation! But a quick rectification by their manager spared us the long queue. Following was arcade and billard and arcade yet again before hoping on the last bus home.

Saturday was spent at home for practically the whole day and helped out in the preparation of dinner. As night falls, the owl in me awoken and i left home to meet up with joseph and weiji at our usual hangout for a game of pool till the wee hours of the night. Managed to win a bet and got a lift home by weiji! Haha, thanks 'doggie' luck =)

Sunday was family day yet again and this time its to the cemetery for Qing Ming Jie. Ate at tamah jurong before another game of pool and also met up with my cousin's girlfriend. Ended it with my bottle of beer stuck in my fridge ever since chinese new year!

What a week, its april fool's week this week, and i'm such a huge huge slacker. Work 3 days rest 4 days! Didn't managed to pull off any interesting stuns this april fool's day, except appearing back in camp!

Well my 3 days of work as fun as usual. Just that i was in the suspense as to when i'll be required to shift to a new table, and melody was like joking with me by implying that i wasn't performing and kicking me away to another table! And i almost didn't fill a 0.5 this week! My mentor saved the day ( and my ass! Literally! from my big boss ) ! by helping me close a case on thursday! The day which i wasn't in camp! She tot i was joking when i told her i want to take off on april fool's day! Haha, well apparently not!

Thursday i was back in camp to the surprise of many people, settled some important stuffs and also to go back to see hows life for those trapped souls! Haha. Managed to got on the bus before the pouring rain, and there goes my chance of going back to work... Slept the whole afternoon! WHOO! haven't had that kind of sleep since i started work, then at night its prata with joseph followed by pool with joseph and weiji. I'm super super lucky that night, which left both of them speechless! Only lost 2 games which i potted the black ball in! Sigh... Then its dota after that as andrew joined us till about 3am! Man some games are just too owning!

Friday supposed to go sentosa but was cancelled last minute as nigel cannot make it, so in the end i stayed at home and NUA till about evening before we head to our family barber for a trim. Dinner was awesome! Seafood restaurant at bottle tree park! Was quite amazed that after all we ordered, black pepper crabs, prawns, scallops, yam... it amounted to about hundred odd.

Sat went back to school to play volleyball in the morning. Which we complained about the hot sun and before we know it, the rain has forced us to stop our game. And its a very lazy afternoon with the rain while i spent the whole afternoon till night being a potato on the couch, talking to a friend of mine.

Sunday, MALAYSIA! Whooo, drove there early in the morning and stayed there till 5 plus 6pm. =) WORK Tmr, its a fresh new week!
